The object of this project is to develop devices that use quantum dots in microfluidics channels to write information. The methods of multi-layer soft lithography developed in our group allows us to mix quantum dot cocktails in precise ratios. This can be combined with hydrodynamic focussing which allows us to narrow fluid streams an order of magnitude smaller than the channel width.The quantum dots can be focussed hydrodynamically to write information in the form of quantum dot bar-codes.
